Jim Caviezel was born on September 26th 1968 in Mount Vernon, Washington, United States of America. His birth name is James Patrick Caviezel, yet he also has a few nicknames numbering “JC” and “Jimmy”. In terms of height, he is six foot two or 1 meter and eighty eight centimeters.

Jim Caviezel was born in a close knit Catholic family and he was one of the 5 children of Maggie and Jim Caviezal. Even from an early age he was described as being very intense and he had two major interests: religion and sports. Due to his passion for sports, he started playing basketball and was very good at it, dreaming about one day playing in the NBA. Not only that, but he was also a very religious person and was always in church on Sunday with his parents.
Later in life, more precisely in 1984, Jim attended the Mount Vernon High School, yet after just 2 years, he decided to transfer to the O’Dea High School. In the next spring he transferred again, this time to Burien’s Kennedy High School, Washington. Because of his basketball skills, he immediately became a star in that high school and eventually graduated in nineteen eighty seven.
After graduating high school, he took classes at the Bellevue Community College and he continued playing basketball. Yet he experienced an injury that would soon shut his dreams of becoming an NBA player and that is when he shifted his attention towards acting.
In nineteen ninety he auditioned for a part in “My own private Idaho” and eventually won a small role, playing as a foreign airline clerk, after the told to the casting agents that he was actually a recent Italian immigrant.
Next year he decided to move to Los Angeles and between the auditions, he worked as a waiter. He managed to get small roles in Diggstwon, Wyatt Earp, the Wonder Years and Murder, She wrote.
Even though he was not well known, Caviezel’s popularity increased in nineteen ninety eight when he received great recognition for his role in the movie “The Thin Red Line” as idealist Private Witt. He managed to spark even more attention by playing in movies like “Ride with the Devil”, “Frequency” and “Angel Eyes”, which had him working with Jennifer Lopez. It was the role that established him as a great actor.
In 2002 he refused to do a scene in High Crimes, because it interfered with his strong Catholic faith and during that time he was selected by Mel Gibson in order to play in his upcoming movie called “The Passion of the Christ” which was very controversial. The movie became one of the best movies of all times in terms of profits and made Jim’s popularity levels skyrocket.
In June of 2006 Actor Jim Caviezel was taking summer classes at the University Of Notre Dame in order to get his college degree. On December 6th to December 7th he visited Bayside of granite Bay and he was part of an interview that Pastor Ray Johnston took in front of the audience, talking about the role he had in Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ”. Jim Caviezel is currently working in a number of roles including playing the part of John Reese in the TV show Person of Interest.
